What is Reflexology and The Benefits?

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy that works on the pressure points of the feet, hands and face, which are thought to correspond to the organs, systems and structure of the body, which can be seen through the use of foot maps.

The aim of the treatment is to relax the client and promote natural healing, which in turn, will improve their physical and emotional health. The training I completed was very comprehensive and I needed to treat 100 case studies, which included 6 clients with presenting conditions.

Some of the clients I worked with had presenting conditions which included:

  • Pregnancy - whilst not a condition, adaptations needed to be made to ensure the safety of mum and baby
  • Fertility
  • Chronic migraines
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Severe IBS and food intolerance
  • Diabetes - Type 1

All of the above found, after receiving regular treatments, a significant reduction in stress and symptoms, which enabled them to power on stronger through their daily routines. Please note that Reflexology does not diagnose and does not cure, and should not be used as an alternative to conventional medicine. We aim to work alongside your routine healthcare for any medical condition.

Some of the amazing benefits of Reflexology include:

  • Improved sleep
  • Helps relieve tension and aid relaxation
  • Promotes well being and improves mood
  • Balances emotions
  • Reduction of condition symptoms

If you are under medical observation or treatment from a consultant or medical practitioner, please note that reflexology and other therapies in some cases can be given alongside to help reduce the symptoms. If this is the case please contact your GP/Consultant to confirm if reflexology could help you. If you have any questions regarding a health concern and if I am able to complete a reflexology treatment with you, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we can discuss.
